The project "Development of Laser-LED Hybrid White Light Module and Its Application in Laser Projection" has passed acceptance.

On June 8, 2016, the Fujian Provincial Science and Technology Major Project, "Development of Laser-LED Hybrid White Light Module and its Application in Laser Projection," led by the Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter, Chinese Academy of Sciences, passed the expert review organized by the Fujian Provincial Department of Science and Technology.

This project, focusing on the development needs of Fujian Province's new display industry, achieved breakthroughs in key technologies such as the fabrication of 1.0mm large-area uniform PPMgOLN frequency-doubling chips, rapid packaging and laser welding of miniaturized green lasers, and speckle elimination technology combining static and dynamic rotating phase plates. It formed a complete technology chain from core crystals to lasers to the entire device, and developed a prototype laser projector using a laser-LED hybrid white light source.

The laser-LED hybrid white light module completed through this project achieved a brightness of 378.4 lm and reduced speckle contrast to 4.06%. The laser projector achieved a brightness of 341 lm, a color gamut of 156%, a uniformity of 95.5%, a resolution of 1308×814, and a contrast ratio of 108.7:1.

The completion of this project has further enhanced the core competitiveness of laser display core components and their complete applications in Fujian Province, and has also provided new technical solutions for the development of laser display in my country.
